BOISE, Idaho - Rising junior Morgan Lamb will compete in a doubleheader against the US Women's Softball team as part of the Sacramento All-Star roster, Thursday in Sacramento, Calif.
The Sacramento All-Star roster is comprised of collegiate athletes who competed at the high school, travel or collegiate levels in the Sacramento region. Lamb is a native of Elk Grove, Calif., in the Sacramento area and also played club softball in the region.
"Playing in this game is a great opportunity to compete against the best of the nation and play in front of the US National coaches," Lamb said. "Not only getting to play against them, but the chance to meet some of them and ask why they play the game. Playing with girls on my team will be a blast. Growing up with a few girls from my team and playing against some in high school. I'm so pumped!"
The doubleheader exhibition is scheduled for Thursday, with game times at 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. (PT) at Raley Field.
"Playing against the national team is a great opportunity for Morgan and our program. She will have the experience of facing the best players in the world," Boise State head coach Cindy Ball said. "We are very proud for Morgan and her hard work to put herself in a position to be picked for this event. Both the knowledge and experience that she gains from this game will be very impactful for the younger players in our program."
Lamb was named to the All-Mountain West Second Team this past seasons as a sophomore. The catcher batted .351 with six homers and 23 RBIs over 44 games.
