LOS ANGELES, Calif. - Rising sophomore men's golfer Brian Humphreys concluded his summer season, Tuesday, at the US Amateur Championship.
The defending Mountain West champion failed to qualify for match play at the prestigious event - which fielded 312 of the best amateur golfers - finishing the second round with a score of 150 (76-74, +10). Humphreys made 25 par or better shots on the par-70 The Riviera Country Club and Bel-Air Country Club.
Humphreys will now gear up for Boise State's upcoming season after a successful amateur season this summer. The Washougal, Wash. native finished runner-up in match play at the 108th Oregon Amateur, June 20-25. He also finished tied for 21st at the Pacific Coast Amateur, July 18-21.
Humphreys qualified for the US Amateur Championship thanks to his victory at the Medford Qualifier, July 24.
