RANCHO MIRAGE, Calif. - The Boise State doubles team of Mattia Bedolo and Wyatt DeMulling defeated San Francisco's duo of Lucas Marinelli and Oliver Poysti 6-4 to finish the National Collegiate Tennis Classic 2-1 over the weekend. The doubles victory was the lone win of the day for Boise State on Sunday.
In singles, Mattia Bedolo was leading his match versus Dane Esses from Pepperdine taking the first set, before having to retire because of injury in the second. Esses took the match 4-6, 1-0.
Maximilien Blancaneaux lost a tough tiebreaker in the first set before falling in two to Pepperdine's Brian Berdusco 7-6(5), 6-1. DeMulling also played one singles match Sunday afternoon falling to Pepperdine's Max Mendelsohn 6-4, 6-0.
Boise State opens the team dual season next weekend in Boise when they host a pair of Big Ten opponents in Northwestern on Sunday followed by No. 17 Michigan Monday morning, both contests will be played at the Boise Racquet and Swim Club.
