Broncos Tied For 13th After Day One in Texas

CARROLTON, Texas- The Broncos were tested in round one of the Maridoe Intercollegiate as they sit in 13th place at +31.

However, head coach Dan Potter is keeping things in perspective, "We knew this would be a tough test from start to finish. We just let some mistakes snowball today and you can't get away with that on this course. Fortunately, we still have a lot of golf left. If we hit more fairways the next two rounds we will do just fine."

The low man for the Broncos Saturday was junior Mason Schulze, who shot a +6 (76) to open the tournament tied for 41st. Junior Brian Humphreys finished the day with a +7 (77) to tie for 46th. Junior Joe Neuheisel shot one higher with a +8 (78), good enough for a tie for 52nd.

Freshman Hugo Townsend concluded the day with a +10 (80), which has him tied for 61st. Sophomore Skyler Eubank rounds out the team with a +11 finish, putting him into a tie for 67th.

There are thunderstorms in Sunday's forecast so barring a weather delay the Broncos will tee off round two starting at 9:20 a.m. MT.
