Sammamish, Wash. -
The start of the Husky Invitational was delayed for two hours Tuesday morning due to heavy fog. The delay took its toll as no teams shot below par in round one and only host Washington fired a team round under par at the close of play, when play was suspended due to darkness. Boise State ended day +36 in sole control of seventh.
The Broncos struggled with big numbers today including six double bogeys in the first round, however head coach Dan Potter remains confident, "We just made way too many big numbers today. We still have a lot of golf left to play in this tournament but we have to be a lot cleaner the rest of the way."
Boise State was led by junior Joe Neuheisel
, who closed play in a tie for 13th at +4. Junior Brian Humphreys
finished the day tied for 25th at +6. Freshman Hugo Townsend
, and sophomore Skyler Eubank
matched each other to a +8, tied for 30th. Junior transfer Michael Rizzo
shot +12 in a tie for 45th. Junior Mason Schulze
rounds out the day tied for 49th at +13.
The conclusion of round two will begin at 9 a.m. MT, barring any additional weather delays. The third round will begin as a shotgun start immediately following the second, all pairings will remain the same.
