Class Of 2020: Kendra Noneman

Dear BAA Members,
My name is Kendra Noneman and I am a part of the Boise State Women's Track and Field team, where I compete in the hammer and weight throw. This May I am graduating with a Bachelor of Science in materials science and engineering, with a minor in applied mathematics and an emphasis in computational science. I wanted to take a moment to thank each and every one of you for making my time at Boise State University so special. I am grateful that I have been able to compete at the NCAA Division I level while gaining a high-quality education, all thanks to your generous support.
Growing up in Eagle, Idaho, which is only about 15 miles away, I knew the Bronco community was strong. When the opportunity arose for me to attend school and play sports here, I was ecstatic! Throughout my time as a Bronco, I have gotten to travel all over the west coast and even competed a few times against Olympic athletes I've looked up to since I was a kid. I had amazing coaches, who supported me during times of hardship and trusted that I would always give my best. I also had super supportive athletic trainers who made sure I was healthy, confident, and ready to compete at all times. And lastly, I had the BroncoLife program which helped me connect with athletes from other sports, all with the same goal in mind of improving the overall athlete experience and giving back to the community.
This season and my athletic career may not have ended how I had originally planned, but I still strongly believe that things happen for reason. During these last few months of college, I've spent more time with my family who have supported me through thick and thin; I've been given the time to reflect on the last four years of my life, thinking about how truly fortunate I am; and I've seen first-hand how strong and close-knitted the Boise State community is in times of adversity.
I wouldn't have wanted to spend the last four years anywhere else and I am so incredibly grateful for your support of Bronco Athletics. Because of you, I've gotten to follow my dreams of being a collegiate athlete for an amazing team for the last four years. Thank you again from the bottom of my heart and go Broncos!
