Celebrating 30 Seasons of Women's Golf

30th Thursday

No. 26 | Nicole Suppelsa

“My dad is my biggest supporter,” said Nicole Suppelsa, a fifth-year senior on the Boise State women’s golf team. “He is always there for me to listen or offer advice.”

Suppelsa’s father introduced her to golf and has been her number one fan since she started competing at the age of 13, which she noted as a late start in comparison to many collegiate golfers.

“It was cool coming to Boise State knowing they [had] taken a chance on me,” said Suppelsa.

The Rolling Hills Estate, Calif., native graduated in May with her degree in accounting and finance and is currently pursuing her Master of Science in Accountancy. Due to COVID-19 Suppelsa was granted a fifth year of eligibility, so she decided to further her education and compete for the Broncos one last season.

“I [wanted] to play another year and wear the blue and orange for one more season,” Suppelsa said. “The golf team has become my family.”

Suppelsa has appeared in 34 tournaments as a Bronco, recording two top-10 finishes and six top-25 finishes. Her best finish came at the Rose City Collegiate in 2018 where she finished tied for sixth and fired a career-low two-under 70 in the opening round.

In the record book, Suppelsa is tied for third in individual low round at a conference championship and tied for 10th in individual low 54-hole score at a conference championship. She is also ranked 10th in individual career scoring average (77.77).

Although the 2021-22 season just teed off, Suppelsa has already secured a full-time position with KPMG Accounting Advisory beginning in fall 2022, after interning with the company over the past two summers.

Thanks to Beta Alpha Psi, the accounting fraternity on campus, Suppelsa connected with KPMG by attending the fraternity’s weekly networking meetings with various professionals from different accounting firms.

Boise State just concluded their second tournament of the 2021-22 season, Wednesday. Next, you can catch Suppelsa and the Broncos at the Seattle U Pat Lesser-Harbottle Invitational Oct. 11-12.

“I have nothing to lose, so I want to shoot for the stars,” Suppelsa said. “I think we have a great team – it’s one of the best I have ever been on.”
