BOISE, Idaho – Boise State Athletics received a $1 million gift designated to assist the Bronco football program, director of athletics Jeramiah Dickey announced Tuesday. The donor has requested to remain anonymous.
"Our thanks to those who have responded to the call for support and have made or expanded their investments in Bronco Athletics," said Dickey. "Thank you. Our student-athletes benefit from every dollar."
This is the third $1M gift Bronco Athletics has received since the public launch of Unbridled: The Campaign for Boise State. Since the launch of the Lyle Smith Society, this is the 14th $1M+ gift from a total of 10 different individuals or families.
Bronco football recently announced the complete 2024 recruiting class, a group of young men that On3 rates at a score of 85.185, the highest mark any current member of the Mountain West has recorded since 2002.
"We have the privilege to pour in and build up these young men at such a pivotal time in their lives," said Bronco head coach Spencer Danielson. "Your investment makes a difference today for every one of our student-athletes and prepares them for the future."
In October, Dickey announced a $150 million fundraising goal for the Athletics pillar of Unbridled: The Campaign for Boise State University, the most ambitious philanthropic and alumni engagement campaign in the university's history, which runs through 2028. The priorities of the Athletics pillar include facility upgrades and enhanced programming to support the whole student-athlete.
"We need every citizen of Bronco Nation to embrace the opportunity and provide the resources to help fund scholarships for student-athletes and capital projects to meet our goal. There are opportunities at every giving level," said Dickey.
This year's Bronco Giving Day is Feb. 28-29, a 36-hour philanthropic giving campaign to support Boise State. Visit BroncoSports.com for more information.
