
Gymnastics Ranked No. 11 in NACGC/W Academic Standings

The Broncos' No. 11 finish is the best in program history, as well as, their total of 11 students and a team G.P.A. of 3.4689. Prior to this season, the program was led by the 2006 Bronco squad which finished No. 13 in the nation with a 3.4300 G.P.A. and 10 student-athletes with individual honors.
Freshman Erin Wippermann (health science studies) was the top honoree for the Broncos, joining 66 additional NCAA Division I female gymnasts who have earned a 4.00 cumulative G.P.A. Junior Mallory Dziawura (health science studies) tied for the No. 75 ranking, earning a 3.97 G.P.A. while fellow junior Kelsey Lang (communication) finished just outside the top-100 student-athletes, tying for No. 110 with her 3.94 G.P.A., marking the third-straight year of NACGC/W academic honors for Dziawura and Lang. Senior Taylor Jacob (athletic administration masters) has totaled a 3.85 G.P.A. while junior Cassie Tycast (social work) holds a 3.79 G.P.A., both earning their second-career awards. Senior Raquel Turnbow (health science studies) earned her second-career award with a 3.74 G.P.A. while sophomore Lindsay Kazandjian (K-12 physical education) earned her first-career honor with a 3.66 G.P.A. Senior Yvette Leizorek (health science studies) has earned a cumulative G.P.A. of 3.57 for her first career-honor while junior Hannah Redmon (marketing) snagged her second-career honor with a 3.56 G.P.A. Sophomore Chelsee Apple (marketing) has earned a 3.52 G.P.A., landing her on the individual honors list for the second time. Sophomore Fiona Leslie (communication) rounds out the Bronco honorees with her 3.50 G.P.A.
Wipperman and Leizorek led the Broncos in the 2010 Spring Semester, each earning perfect 4.0 G.P.A's for the semester.
All six Western Athletic Conference teams were ranked with Southern Utah University leading the nation with a 3.8923 G.P.A. and 12 student-athletes earning individual honors. Boise State placed second among the WAC teams while Utah State (3.2921 G.P.A.) came in third at No. 37 in the national rankings. The Aggies tallied six student-athletes with individual honors. Cal State Fullerton placed 48thth with 12 athletes honored. San Jose State rounded out the WAC with three individual honorees and a 61st-place finish. with 10 athletes honored while Sacramento State placed 57
Sixty-five NCAA Division I teams were included in the team rankings while 305 student-athletes were named to the individual honors list. In order to earn an individual honor, student-athletes must have a 3.50 or better cumulative G.P.A.
