Mitchell Adds Ford Boise State Student-Athlete of the Week Honor

BOISE, Idaho – Following a 2-1 showing at the Boise State Classic, and an elite defensive performance, Boise State volleyball sophomore Breanna Mitchell has been named the Ford Boise State Student-Athlete of the Week, for the week of Sept. 13-20.
Mitchell is the second Bronco volleyball player to earn the honor, following Paige Bartsch (Aug. 30).
The libero also earned Mountain West Defensive Player of the Week honors this week. She averaged 17.3 digs per match helping the Broncos to wins over South Dakota State (3-0) and Montana (3-1).
Mitchell recorded 52 digs over the three matches, and made only four errors on 48 attempts for a .917 serve-receive percentage.
The Broncos are riding back-to-back wins and open Mountain West play this week against Colorado State (Thursday, 7 p.m.) and Wyoming (Saturday, noon) at Bronco Gym.
