- WHAT'S NEXT: Boise State will host College of Idaho at Boas Indoor Tennis Center on Friday, Feb. 9 at 8 p.m. MT.Â
- SCOUTING THE YOTES: College of Idaho enters the match with a record of 2-4 after losing to both Colorado Mesa and Idaho State 7-0 on Feb. 4. Boise State has won 22 consecutive contests against College of Idaho and leads the all-time series 32-4.
- LINI THE MACHINE-Y: Pauline Ernstberger was named the Mountain West Women's Tennis Player of the Week on Feb. 7. The honor came following her performance against No. 21 Washington on Feb. 2, claiming a victory in doubles and singles. Ernstberger and her partner Shauna Heffernan first defeated Sarah-Maude Fortin and Erika Matsuda 6-1. She then faced 2023 All-Pac-12 second team honoree Matsuda in singles on court one, rallying back and winning in a tiebreak set 4-6, 7-5, 1-0 (6).
- FAMILIAR FACE: College of Idaho head coach Jennifer (Blackman) Swing is a former Bronco who played on the women's tennis team from 1991-95. She won the Big Sky Conference Championship in 1995 after being named runner-up the previous two years. Swing was also a part of the 1994-95 women's golf team at Boise State.Â
- NEARING 10: Nicole Discenza and Ella Piron are both nearing 10 singles wins this season and could reach the mark during this weekend's match. Discenza and Piron currently sit at nine victories, both with winning percentages of 64.3%. On the doubles side, Discenza and Lorelyz Marruffo are also approaching 10 doubles wins on the season. The tandem currently sits at nine victories with a winning percentage of 52.9%.
- CLIMBING THE LEADERBOARD: Ernstberger picked up her 17th career singles win in the No. 1 spot against No. 21 Washington (Feb. 2). The senior is now tied for seventh in program history with Kris Pudlinger, who played for the Broncos from 1982-85.
- DOUBLE TROUBLE: Ernstberger and Heffernan picked up their 29th career doubles win as a pair this past weekend against No. 21 Washington (Feb. 2). They are now ninth in program history, trailing Anna Curtolo and Carolina Pongratz (2002-05) who have 32 victories.
