Broncos add two players to 2024 recruiting class

BOISE, Idaho – Boise State head football coach Spencer Danielson announced the addition of two more players to the Broncos' 2024 recruiting class, securing the highest rated recruiting class any current member of the Mountain West has ever recorded.

Local product Troy Grizzle was announced as a walk-on beginning this summer while Corona, California-native Syncere Brackett inked a National Letter of Intent and is set to "grayshirt" the 2024 season, arriving in Boise next January.

Record-Setting Recruiting Class
The announcement completes the 2024 recruiting class for the Broncos, a group that On3 rates at a score of 85.185, the highest mark any current member of the Mountain West has recorded since 2002. That places the Broncos 64th nationally, the third-highest-ranked recruiting class of non-Autonomous 5 programs with only USF (No. 57) and Tulsa (No. 61) slightly higher.

With the addition of a pair of five-star-rated transfers and previous Broncos signee Clay Martineau rating as a four-star recruit, Boise State's prime 2024 recruiting class is ranked ahead of Washington State (No. 65), Oregon State (No. 67), Colorado (No. 68) and UCLA (No. 70).

Troy Grizzle
Grizzle is an all-conference defensive end and long snapper from nearby Mountain View High School in Meridian that claimed Defensive MVP honors in the 2023 Idaho East-West Shrine Game.

Syncere Brackett
Brackett, a linebacker from Corona, California's Centennial High School, is a three-star player that led his team to a 9-3 mark and the state semifinals, tallying 70 total tackles and 4.5 sacks during the 2023 season.

2024 Recruiting Class by the Numbers
This brings the recruiting class to 28 total additions with 15 signees already on the Boise State campus preparing to begin spring practice. Of that group of 28 additions, three – Clay Martineau, Hayden Hanks and Trevor McKenna – were ranked in the top five of their respective home states.

Boise State's wide-ranging recruiting class will head to the Treasure Valley from seven different states and Ireland. As Danielson and his staff continue to search far and wide for the best fit for the Broncos program, this fall will feature a football roster that is represented by six different countries (United States, Australia, Bahamas, Egypt, Germany and Ireland).

Spring Practice
Along with the complete signing class, Danielson announced that his team will begin spring practice on Tuesday, March 5 with the annual Spring Game set for Saturday, April 13 at Albertsons Stadium. All dates are subject to change.

Bronco Stampede
Coaches and administrators from Boise State Athletics will visit four Idaho communities this spring to celebrate the success of Bronco sports programs, student-athletes and meet head football coach Spencer Danielson, athletic director Jeramiah Dickey announced on Wednesday. There will also be an event in Boise.

"This tour provides an opportunity for us to thank Bronco Nation for its support, share progress on the What's Next initiative, and introduce coach Danielson," said Dickey.

The inaugural Bronco Stampede includes the following dates and communities: April 26 in Idaho Falls, April 27 in Twin Falls, May 14 in Nampa, May 16 in Coeur d'Alene and May 18 in Boise. Exact event locations and details about each visit will be shared soon.

The 2024 home schedule features Nevada, Oregon State, Portland State, San Diego State, Utah State and Washington State visiting The Blue as the Broncos look to become the first Mountain West program to repeat as champion since San Diego State in 2015-16.
