
Broncos Prepare for Utah Beach Classic

EVENT:Â Boise State beach volleyball will travel to Salt Lake City, Utah for the Utah Beach Classic on March 28-29. The Broncos (12-9, 8-0 SLC) will open the weekend on Friday with an 11 a.m. MT dual against Oregon before facing off against the host school, Utah, at 5 p.m. MT. Boise State will wrap up the weekend against UC Davis at 1 p.m. MT on Saturday.
SCOUTING THE COMPETITION:Â The Blue and Orange have already taken on the Ducks (3-8, 0-4 MPSF) earlier this season, winning 5-0 on Feb. 28 in Tucson, Ariz. The Utes (14-6, 0-0 Big 12) are receiving votes in the AVCA Collegiate Beach Poll while the Aggies (10-8, 3-4 Big West) are coming off a 3-3 finish at the Big West Challenge, including a 4-1 win over Cal State Bakersfield. The Broncos have lost only one combined dual all-time to their three opponents, holding an 18-0 mark against Oregon, 6-0 mark against Utah, and a 3-1 all-time advantage over UC Davis.
BROADCASTING INFO: For the first time in program history, all Boise State road duals will be streamed. Each match will have a live feed of each court so that fans can follow the beach volleyball team in real time. CONFERENCE CHAMPIONS:Â Boise State is coming off the SLC Midseason Tournament, where the squad won all six duals to claim the SLC regular season crown. After defeating Southeaster Louisiana 3-2 in the opening dual, the Broncos rattled off a program-record four consecutive sweeps to set up a showdown with three-time defending champion Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. The Sandy Broncos defeated the Islanders (12-9, 7-1 SLC) 3-2 to claim the regular season conference championship.
CLIMBING THE RANKS:Â The Broncos had considerable movement on their all-time wins leaderboard following their time in Louisiana. Emilia Guerra-Acuña became the program's all-time wins leader, finishing the weekend with 77 victories and passing the previous mark of 74 set by Rorianna Chartier (2021-24). Elli Wolthuis moved up to fifth place in the all-time ranks with 56 victories, trailing teammate Sharli O'Neil (61 wins). Three other Broncos are currently in the top ten - Ava Anderson (51 wins) is eighth, Lily Patock (49 wins) is ninth and Addison Wolden (44 wins) is 10th.
