
Caples Recognized on Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award Watch List

BOISE, Idaho – Boise State wide receiver Latrell Caples was recognized on the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award Watch List, SPORTyler announced. The award is presented annually to the nation's most outstanding Division I offensive player who graduated from a Texas high school or plays at a four-year college in Texas. Caples is a native of Lancaster, Texas, and graduated from Lancaster High School.
Caples enters his sixth year at Boise State with 93 receptions for 1,078 yards and nine touchdowns. After missing the entire 2023 season due to injury, he caught 38 passes for 473 yards and five touchdowns in 2024. Of his 38 catches, 28 gained a first down or scored a touchdown. In a win over San Diego State, he caught three touchdowns, tying for the Mountain West single-game high. Following that performance, he garnered Earl Campbell Tyler Rose National Player of the Week Honorable Mention.Â
In 2022, Caples led Boise State with 51 catches for 549 yards and four touchdowns. He was named Preseason All-MW and secured Preseason All-MW First Team honors from Athlon Sports. Last year, he was featured on the Comeback Player of the Year Watch List. He has appeared in 33 games as a Bronco.
Semifinalists for the award will be announced November 21, with finalists recognized in December. The winner of the 13th Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award will be named at the Earl Campbell Banquet, held January 21 in Tyler, Texas.
