Inducted into the Boise State Hall of Fame in 1990
Fred Miklancic is one of the Broncos’ former junior college greats. Playing for former Bronco head football coach and athletic director Lyle Smith from 1953 to 1954, Miklancic was an All-Conference fullback helping the Broncos to consecutive Intermountain Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships in 1953 and 1954. The 1953 Bronco team posted an overall record of 8-1, with the 1954 squad finishing the year with an overall mark of 9-1-1. Following his two year career at Boise Junior College, Miklancic transferred to the University of Oregon where he was a two-year starter.
