All American Quarterback, Boise State 1971-74
Inducted into the Boise State Hall of Fame in 1982
Jim McMillan quarterbacked the Broncos in 1972, 1973, and 1974. Named to the Division II Associated Press All-American first team in 1974, he set a number of Big Sky Conference and Boise State passing records while quarterbacking the Broncos into two consecutive Division II playoffs. McMillan holds the school records for passing yards, touchdown passes, and total offensive in a single game, season, and career. In seven games he threw for 300 or more yards and is the only Bronco to throw more than 400 yards in one game. He passed for more than 2,900 yards in a single season, and during his career he completed 382 passes for a total of 5,508 yards. McMillan remains the first and only player to have his jersey retired at Boise State.
