Inducted into the Boise State Hall of Fame in 1984
Ron Austin, one of the most explosive basketball scorers in BSU history, holds the Boise State University single-season scoring record with a 24.5 per-game average during the 1970-71 season. He holds the single-season scoring record with 636 single-game scoring record with a 42-per effort against the University of Montana in 1971. In addition, he holds the record for career scoring average, with 20.5 points per game. In 1968-69 Austin helped the Broncos win a spot in the NAIA tournament. In 1969-70, Austin and Bill Otey led the Broncos to a 20-8 season and to the NCAA Division II tournament.
