DEVELOPMENT OFFICERS NAMED IN BRONCO ATHLETIC DEPARTMENT

            BOISE, Idaho Michel Bourgeau, a former Bronco football player, and Meghan Levi have been named development officers for the Boise State University athletic department.

            Bourgeau is the development officer in charge of the Varsity “B” Club, while Levi is the development officer in charge of major gifts.  Bourgeau’s primary responsibilities are to identify, cultivate and involve former student-athletes in the activities of the Bronco athletic programs.  Levi will participate with the athletic development team in raising major financial support for Boise State athletics through private and corporate contributions.

            A four-year letter winner on the Bronco football team from 1980-83, Bourgeau earned All-American honors and was twice selected first team All-Big Sky Conference during his collegiate career.  As a freshman defensive lineman in 1980, he helped Boise State to the NCAA Division I-AA National Championship.  Bourgeau went on to an outstanding professional football career in the Canadian Football League playing for the Ottawa Rough Riders from 1984-89 and the Edmonton Eskimo Eskimos from 1989-94.  In 1990 he was inducted into the Boise State Athletic Hall of Fame.

            Bourgeau returned to Boise following his professional football career working in sales and development at Extended Systems, Inc. and Hewlett-Packard.  The past two years, along with being self employed in BMBS Inc., Bourgeau served as the Varsity “B” Coordinator in the Bronco athletic department doubling the membership to over 200.  He is a 1985 graduate from Boise State with a bachelor’s degree in business management.

            Levi first became a member of the athletic department at Boise State in September of 2005 as the assistant director of the Bronco Athletic Association.  This past year she has been involved with managing the BAA’s annual membership and season ticket campaign of over 4,000 members, along with implementing strategies for the retention and upgrading of current annual membership donors.  She has also been involved with the production of several membership materials including the publication of the Bronco Insider Newsletter.  Levi also coordinated the BAA reserve parking policies for athletic events and the Canyon County Boosters luncheons.

            Prior to joining the Bronco program, Levi was a development associate at Albertson College of Idaho.

A 2002 graduate of the University of Utah with a bachelor’s of science degree in health promotion and education, Levi worked in the development office at the university first as a student, and then in two different full time positions.  As a student she was a phonathon caller and matching gift program assistant.  Her full time positions included matching gift program coordinator from 2001 to 2002, and coordinator of donor relations from 2002 to 2005.
