GRINNELL NAMED WAC FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

BOISE, Idaho Boise State senior Ryan Grinnell has been named the Western Athletic Conference Men’s Field Athlete of the Week, for Feb. 16-22. Grinnell captured first and third place finishes at the NAU Tune-Up in Flagstaff, Ariz. last weekend en route to the award. It is the first time this season that Grinnell has brought home the honor.

            Grinnell (Skyline HS/Idaho Falls, Idaho) won the high jump at the NAU Tune-Up, hosted by Northern Arizona University, with a personal best of 7-1.75 (2.18m), which improved his NCAA provisional mark. He currently has the second best high jump mark in the conference. Grinnell also finished third in the long jump with a mark of 24-5.00 (7.16m). The jump is good enough to rank in the top five for the conference.
