BOISE, Idaho – To say that Jeremy Avery had a career day on Friday in the Broncos 51-34 win at Fresno State would be an understatement. His breakout game has landed the running back this week’s Bronco Athlete of the Week honors. Avery set career-highs in six different statistical categories as well as breaking a school record.
The junior from Bellflower, Calif., rushed for a career-high 186 yards on 11 carries to set the school record with 16.9 yards per carry against the Bulldogs. Avery’s 74-yard run in the third quarter was also a career-high. However, he wasn’t just limited to the ground as he set career-highs with five receptions for 83 yards. His 67-yard touchdown catch in the fourth quarter also set a career-high.
Avery on the Broncos hit the road again next week when they travel to Ohio to take on Bowling Green on Saturday. The women’s volleyball team begins WAC-play this week with a trip to Hawaii and San Jose State. Women’s soccer hits the road for the first time this month for a pair of games in Wyoming, and the cross country teams compete again in Eagle, Idaho for their second meet of the year.
