SANTA CRUZ, Calif. (4/18/2010) - Boise State University’s men’s golf team recorded its best round of the Western Intercollegiate Sunday morning in Santa Cruz, Calif., tallying a 15-over 365. The Broncos finished the tournament with a final total of 1,1112 (+62) to place 11th overall. Fourth ranked Oregon won the team competition with an 12-under 1,038.

Leading Boise State’s six-man team was senior John Baranco with a 10-over 220. Baranco recorded scores of 72-75-73 during the two days of competition to finish in a four-way tie for 37th. Eugene Wong from the University of Oregon won the individual competition with an 8-under 202.

Sophomore Blake Brown recorded the second-best score for the Broncos turning in a 11-over 221 (79-67-75) to tie for 41st. Chris Byrne  (75-76-74) and Robbie Richards (77-77-71) tied third on the Boise State roster carding a three-round score of 15-over 225s. Rounding out the scoring for the Broncos were Taeksoo Kim with a 16-over 226 (77-77-72) and Drew Surmeier at 23-over 233 (77-74-82).

Boise State will return to action April 23-24 when the Broncos participate in the PING Cougar Classic in Provo, Utah.
