Travis, France Finish Strong in Pullman

PULLMAN, Wash. - Senior men's golfer Ty Travis finished tied for 10th place at the Itani Quality Homes Collegiate in Pullman, Wash., Tuesday.

Travis completed the tournament 1-under, notching 12 birdies overall, with a 54-hole total of 209 (66, 70, 73) at the par-70, 7,308-yard Palouse Ridge Golf Club.

Junior Logan France recorded the lowest score in the final round for the Broncos, concluding the round 1-over and finishing the tournament tied for 23rd with a three-round total of 212 (70, 71, 71-- +2). France was three strokes shy of the top 10.

"We showed some grit this week, which had been missing. I was proud of the way the guys fought some tough conditions. We didn't get the result we wanted but it was a step in the right direction," head coach Dan Potter commented.

The Broncos finished in 10th place as a team with a total of 864 (279, 285, 300-- +24). Oregon shot 834(-6) to win the tournament after a play-off with USC.

Junior Shane Allor (73, 71, 75--219, +9), sophomore Kyle Mitsunaga (70, 73, 82--225, +15),and sophomore David Elliott (73,74, 81-- 228, +18) rounded out the scoring for the team.

Jacob Byers, competing as an individual, finished with a three round total of 231 (76, 72, 83-- +21).

Next up for the Broncos will be the Ogio Utah Invitational in Park City, Utah, Oct. 6-7.
