CHARLESTON, S.C. Boise State men's basketball fell at College of Charleston 60-47, Thursday, in the opening round of the 2016 Gildan Charleston Classic. The Broncos (1-1) will face Mississippi State (1-1) Friday, at 7 p.m. ET/5 p.m. MT on ESPN3.

Chandler Hutchison posted career highs of 24 points and 12 rebounds in the loss. Hutchison was 10-for-19 from the field. He became the first Bronco to post 20-point, 10-rebound efforts in consecutive games since Tanoka Beard in 1993.

Boise State scored the first five points of the game and led 10-5 at the 13:40 mark of the first half. The Broncos were held scoreless the next 6:32, and scored two points in 8:34 as College of Charleston took a 21-12 lead. The Cougars would own a 30-20 advantage at halftime.

Boise State scored the first six points of the second half to cut the margin to four, but the Cougars responded with a 9-0 run. The Broncos would not get back within nine.

The Broncos shot 18-for-52 (34.6 percent) from the floor as a team, including 4-for-21 (19 percent) from three-point range.

The Cougars (3-0) will play UCF, who defeated Mississippi State 86-61.
