2015-16 In Review: Fall
7/11/2016 12:00:00 AM | General
Nine of Boise State's 16 All-America honors last year came during the fall sports season. It was also 'the fall of the freshman.' Elijah Armstrong (men's cross country), Allie Ostrander (women's cross country) and Brett Rypien (football) all made their Bronco debuts and took home Mountain West Freshman of the Year honors in their respective sports.
Ostrander would go on to have one of the best years in Boise State athletics history, but in the fall she paced the Bronco women's cross country squad to arguably the best season by a Boise State team in 2015-16.
The fall was about more than just freshmen competing beyond their years. It also included a coming-of-age story on the volleyball court. Sarah Baugh and Sierra Nobley led the team to a 23-7 record and second-place finish in the Mountain West with a 15-3 league mark.
