CHAMPAIGN, Ill. - Boise State saw its season come to a close Monday, with a 71-56 loss at Illinois in the second round of the National Invitation Tournament. The Broncos finish the season 20-12, their fifth straight 20-win season.

Boise State led 48-46 with 10:48 remaining, but Illinois outscored the Broncos 23-6 over the next 9:31 to ice the game. The Broncos were 0-for-14 from three-point range in the second half. Illinois (20-14) scored 16 points off 16 Boise State turnovers.

Chandler Hutchison led the Broncos with 17 points and eight rebounds. Hutchison finishes the season with 557 points, tied for No. 8 in school history.

Boise State finished the first half on a 9-0 run, all coming on three Nick Duncan three-pointers, to take a 34-33 lead into the break. Duncan scored 12 points to give him 1,141 in his career, ranking No. 14 on the school's all-time scoring list.

Boise State played without David Wacker (shoulder), James Reid (head) and Malek Harwell (head).
