Bonfilio Performs Well in Second Round

RANCHO MIRAGE, Calif. - Kinsley Bonfilio carried the Broncos in the second round of the Mountain West Women's Golf Championship, recording a 3-over 75 to lead the way on Tuesday. Bonfilio's 75 ties for the second-lowest round of her career, and is also her best round at a conference championship.
The sophomore shot an even-par 36 on the front nine to set the tone for what was a solid performance. She is tied for 30th heading into tomorrow's final round.
Boise State (308-323) fell two spots to ninth in the team standings after posting a 323 in the second round.
Genevieve Ling (79-82) recorded the second-lowest round of the day for the Blue and Orange with an 82. Ling was hampered by a couple big numbers on the front side, but rebounded well with a 38 on the back. The senior is tied for 41st.
Dana Clary (71-83) still is the top Bronco in the individual standings at 29th, but the Cedar Park, Texas native was unable to get much going today with an 83.
Adara Pauluhn (78-83) also carded an 83 and is now tied for 41st. The sophomore started off well with a 39 on the front, but was tripped up towards the tail end of the back nine.
Jalayne Martinez (80-85) posted an 85, but showed dramatic improvement on the back side with a 3-over 39. She is currently in 44th place.
Boise State will look to finish strong tomorrow in the third and final round, set to tee off at 8 a.m. (MT) once again with other golfers from Colorado State and Wyoming.
