Broncos Fall in Season Finale

SEATTLE, Wash. - Boise State beach volleyball closed out the 2017 season with a 5-0 loss to Washington on Sunday afternoon at Alki Beach in Seattle. It was a tightly contested battle with four of the five matches going three sets, unfortunately none went the way of the Broncos who finish the year 5-6 overall.
The day opened with Jensen Allen and Cassedi Simon taking Lindsay Chalmers and Anna Crabtree to three sets at No. 5 pair before falling 21-11, 20-22, 15-5. That was preceded by a two set loss at No. 4 pair for a 2-0 Husky lead.
Maddy O'Donnell and Maddi Osburn played at No. 2 pair where they rallied from one set down to force a third before going down 21-19, 16-21, 15-11. They finish the year 6-5 overall.
Janell Walley and Emily Sullivan competed at No. 3 pair taking Cassie Strickland and Carly DeHoog to three sets but eventually fell 12-21, 21-17, 15-10. Walley and Sullivan finished the season 7-4 overall.
Sierra Nobley and Sabryn Roberts moved up to No. 1 pair on Sunday where they won the first set by three, but fell in the end as the Huskies duo of Crissy Jones and Tia Scambray rallied to win 18-21, 21-15, 15-8. The Boise State tandem completed the 2017 campaign at 7-4 overall.
