BOISE, Idaho – Junior running back Alexander Mattison has been named the Boise State Athlete of the Week for contests held between Nov. 12-18. Mattison helped lead the football team (9-2, 6-1 MW) to a 45-14 victory over New Mexico Friday night in Albuquerque, N.M.
Mattison rushed for a season-high 145 yards on 20 carries. This was his third 100-yard game in his last four outings, while also adding a touchdown in the fourth quarter. The 145 yards raised his season total to 1,015 yards, making him the sixth Bronco since 2001 to record back-to-back 1,000-yard rushing seasons.
This also continues a streak of 10-straight seasons that Boise State has had a 1,000-yard rusher – the longest active streak in the country, and third-longest in NCAA history.
The win over New Mexico sets up a win-or-go home contest for the Mountain Division against Utah State this Saturday at 8:15 p.m. at Albertsons Stadium.
