Henderson Named Boise State Athlete of the Week

BOISE, Idaho â€" Redshirt junior Sadi Henderson was named Boise State Athlete of the Week after a record-setting weekend at the Mountain West Indoor Track and Field Championship, it was announced this morning.

Henderson defended her 800m title at the Mountain West Indoor Track and Field Championship, running a Boise State school record time of 2:03.95, that also reset the Mountain West Championship record she set in the trials on Friday.

The Corvallis, Mont., native also ran the 1200m leg of the distance medley relay that won their third-consecutive title, running a school, facility and Mountain West Championship record of 11:05.39. The altitude-converted time of 10:55.32 currently leads the nation.

Henderson also came back on Saturday afternoon to run the second leg of Boise State's sixth-place 4x400 relay to score 23 points for the team.

Henderson and the Broncos scored 82 points to finish third â€" their highest point total as members of the Mountain West, and tied for their highest finish at the indoor conference championships (2016). The 17-point margin is the closest Boise State has come to a Mountain West title.
