STANFORD, Calif. - Boise State beach volleyball lost a pair of matches on Saturday falling to San Jose State and No. 14 Stanford by 5-0 scores.

The Broncos were led by their No. 1 pair Sabryn Roberts and Janell Walley who battled hard on Saturday falling to San Jose State's Nandyala Gama and Lyndi Scholl in two tight sets 21-18, 21-19.

Kenna Hanses and Kylee Johnson played SJSU's Thaliana Grajeda and Jamie Hirai close going 21-16, 21-17 at No. 4 pair. Meanwhile, Drew Hannemann and Cassedi Simon won their exhibition match over the Spartans' Breann Robinson and Ryann Thomison in three sets 14-21, 22-20, 19-17.

Stanford's experience and size gave the young Broncos everything they could handle as the 14th-ranked Cardinal rolled to a 5-0 victory over Boise State in the final match of the day. Walley and Roberts recorded the best result going down on court one against the 6-foot-6 Kathryn Plummer and her partner Sunny Villapando 21-13, 21-14.

Jensen Allen and Kiley Lewis played No. 3 pair against Stanford falling to the 6-foot-4 Courtney Bowen and Kate Formico in two sets 21-18, 21-5.

The Broncos will be back in action next the weekend of March 29-30 when they travel to Seattle, Wash., to face the Washington Huskies and Portland Pilots.
