BOISE, Idaho - Allie Ostrander picked up another academic honor Monday, as she was named the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Women's Outdoor Track Scholar-Athlete of the Year. Additionally, both the Boise State men's and women's track and field teams were honored as USTFCCCA All-Academic Teams.

The Boise State programs also had a combined 17 student-athletes named USTFCCCA All-Academic as individuals. The women's team bosted 11 selections: Alelxis Fuller, Dafni Georgiou, Olivia Johnson, Kyra Lopez, MaLeigha Menegatti, Kelly Moodry, Kendra Noneman, Clare O'Brien, Ostrander, Maxine Paholek, and Emily Venters. On the men's side, Elijah Armstrong, Riley Campbell, Brayden Durfee, Jacob Grinwis, Bryce Kirby, and Andrew Rafla were recognized.

Ostrander, who received her bachelor's degree in kinesiology in May, boasts a 4.00 cumulative grade-point average. She was previously named to the CoSIDA Google Cloud Academic All-America Track & Field/Cross Country First Team in June, and claimed the NCAA Elite 90 Award at the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships.

Ostrander, who announced her decision to go pro following the end of the season, also became the first women's athlete in Mountain West history to win the conference's Women's Outdoor Track and Field Student-Athlete of the Year award for a third-straight season.

She was also named a semifinalist for The Bowerman – track and field's highest honor.

The redshirt junior successfully defended her national title in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the 2019 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships, winning in a school-record time of 9:37.73. The win made Ostrander the first female athlete to win three-straight national titles in the steeplechase, and only the 15th woman to win three-straight titles in the same event.

She also earned second-team All-America honors in the 5,000-meter, placing 16th.

Ostrander successfully defended her conference title in the 5,000-meter, while taking second in the 1,500-meter for the second-straight year, earning All-Mountain West honors in each event.

In addition, she posted nation-leading marks during the outdoor season in both the steeplechase and the 10,000-meter — an event where she set the Mountain West record. She displayed her versatility by ranking in the top 20 nationally in both the 1,500-meter (12th- 4:14.76) and the 5,000-meter (17th- 15:45.66).

During the winter indoor track & field season, Ostrander successfully defended her Mountain West 3,000-meter title and added DMR gold to her tally, en route to being named the Women's Most Outstanding Performer of the Mountain West Indoor Track & Field Championships. Ahead of earning All-America honors in both the 3,000 and 5,000 meters at the NCAA Championships, Ostrander was honored for her academic success by being named the NCAA Elite 90 Award recipient, given to the championships participant with the top cumulative grade-point average.

In the fall, Ostrander was the 2018 NCAA Regional champion and a cross-country All-American as she helped lead the Bronco women to a second-place finish at Mountain West Championships and a sixth-place effort at NCAA Championships.
