2019-20: CROSS COUNTRY - Raced in five meets for the Broncos…opened season with a top-25 finish at the Bill Dellinger Invitational (Sept. 29)…was the fourth-fastest runner for the Broncos at the Nuttycombe Invitational (Oct. 18)…earned second team All-Mountain West honors with a 13th-place finish at the Mountain West Championships (Nov. 1)…garnered All-West Region accolades with a 19th-place finish at the NCAA West Regional (Nov. 15)…finished third among Bronco runners at the NCAA Championships (Nov. 23)...INDOOR – competed in two meets for the Broncos...won the mile at the Bronco Invite (Jan. 18)...logged a top-50 finish in the 3,000-meter at the UW Invitational (Jan. 31-Feb. 1)…OUTDOOR – Season canceled due to coronavirus pandemic.

2018-19: CROSS COUNTRY- Made his return to cross country after serving on a two-year church mission with a third-place finish at the Sundodger Invitational. Ran 24:23.80 for 8k as the Broncos swept the first seven spots in the win (Sept. 8) . . .  Helped lead Boise State to a fifth-place finish at the Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational, placing 48th – one of six in the top 50 for Boise State – in 24:00.2 for 8k (Sept. 28) . . . Made second-team all-conference with a 12th-place finish at the conference championship. Ran 25:06.6 to finish as Boise State’s No. 3 runner on the conference title squad (Oct. 26) . . . Earned all-region honors by placing 19th (29:54.6) at the West Region Championships as Boise State’s No. 3 runner (Nov. 9) . . . Was Boise State’s fourth runner at the national championships, running 30:44.1 for 10k to finish in 112th (Nov. 17) . . . INDOOR- Redshirt season . . . OUTDOOR- Appeared at four meets on the season, specializing in the distance events . . . Won the Mountain West title in the 5,000-meter with a late kick down the homestretch, while also finishing seventh in the 10,000-meter to score 12 points (May 8-11) . . . Was Boise State’s top finisher at the NCAA West Preliminary Round in the 5,000-meter, placing 34th in 14:21.10 (May 23-25) . . . Won his heat in a personal best of 13:58.25 at the Stanford Invitational (March 29-30) . . . Set a personal best in the 1,500-meter at the Bryan Clay Invitational (April 17-19).

2016-18: Did not compete while he served a two-year church mission.

2015-16: CROSS COUNTRY - A key part of the Broncos’ lineup in his freshman campaign, steadily progressed throughout the season…closed the year as Boise State’s top finisher at the NCAA Championships, taking 70th with a 10k time of (30:43.9) – good for the fifth-fastest freshman time in the field…was named the Mountain West Freshman of the Year after securing the top freshman finish at the conference championships…he ran a 27:00.7 at the MW Championships, taking ninth which was also gave him All-Mountain West First-Team honors…took 30th at the NCAA West Regional (10k – 31:49.9)…picked up valuable experience early on in the season at the Roy Griak Invitational (55th – 26:07.1) and the Wisconsin adidas Invitational (172nd - 24:54.7)...INDOOR - Kicked off the indoor season at home in Boise at the Ed Jacoby Invite, running in the mile (4:14.13) to take third and helping the DMR squad (10:41.05 to a fourth-place day…ran an 8:09.37 at the UW Invitational, making him the fifth-fastest indoor 3ker in school history…clocked a 8:23.31 at the Husky Classic…helped the DMR team take second at the Mountain West Indoor Track and Field Championships with a school record time of 9:48.34, earned All-MW honors in the process…also competed in the 3,000m and the 5,000m at the MW Indoor Track and Field Championships, running a 8:35.14 and 14:54.32, respectively...OUTDOOR – Finished the outdoor season on a high note, winning the 10,000-meter run at the conference championships with a time of 30:08.25, just out-kicking Air Force’s All-American, Patrick Corona…became the first freshman in Mountain West history to win the 10K since 2001, and became the first Boise State athlete on the men’s side to win the event at a MW Championship…also earned a spot on the podium in the 5,000 meters at conference, running a 14:27.25 to take eighth place…clocked a 3:53.14 in the 1,500-meter run at the Border Clash for second place…began his year running in the 5K at back-to-back meets at Stanford…ran a 14:55.19 at the Stanford Invitational and season-best 14:16.39 at the Stanford Twilight.

PREP: Elijah Armstrong comes to Boise State as one of the most decorated prep athletes in state history after becoming the first high school runner in Idaho history to win four-consecutive 4A Idaho Cross Country State Championships. He is a four-time Idaho Gatorade Athlete of the Year – three times in cross country, once in track and field – and he is the state record holder in the 1,600m and the 3,200m. Armstrong also currently possesses the 11th-fastest 3,200m (8:52.16) and mile (4:07.15) times in the country. The Pocatello High School product has amassed 12 state titles over the course of his prep career in cross country and track and field. He took third at the Footlocker Nationals in cross country last fall after taking sixth in 2013, and was also a two-time New Balance Nationals Indoor 5,000m Champion.
