
Mahone Named National Honorable Mention After Week 1

BOISE, Idaho - Redshirt junior running back Robert Mahone was selected to the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award Honorable Mention list Wednesday following his standout Week 1 performance at Florida State.
Mahone powered the Boise State offense throughout the 36-31 win over the Seminoles, rushing for 142 and a pair of touchdowns, including the game-winner in the fourth quarter, on 24 carries as the Broncos overcame an 18-point deficit.
The carries, yardage, and touchdowns were all career highs for Mahone, who averaged 5.9 yards per attempt. It was his first 100-yard rushing game, and marked the fifrth-straight contest in which a Bronco back had hit the century mark.
No. 24/24 Boise State (1-0) hosts Marshall (1-0) Friday in the 2019 home opener at Albertsons Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. MT on ESPN2.
