BOISE, Idaho – Boise State Athletics matched its all-time best performance for NCAA Graduation Success Rate (GSR) and set a new standard for Federal Graduation Rate (FGR), according to data released Tuesday, by the NCAA. The latest numbers include the cohort that entered college during the 2013-14 academic year, while the four-class average includes student-athletes who entered college between the 2010-11 and 2013-14 academic years.

The Broncos recorded a four-class average GSR of 90 percent, matching the school record set by the 2011 and 2012 reporting cycles. The mark ranked third in the Mountain West. Every Boise State program posted a score of at least 83 percent, with seven teams setting or tying all-time records, including perfect scores from women's golf, women's tennis and volleyball.

Boise State's federal rate of 72 percent is the highest all-time four-class average FGR by a Mountain West school since the NCAA began tracking the data for the 1998 cohort. The Broncos now own four of the top eight FGR marks in MW history.

Both figures calculate the rate at which first-year, full-time student-athletes who enter college on an athletic scholarship earn their degree within six years. The FGR measures the percentage of students who complete an undergraduate degree from their initial school by counting any student who leaves a school as a non-graduate, and does not recognize students who enter school as a transfer.

The GSR factors in transfers and mid-year enrollees. Those student-athletes who elect to leave their initial institution while still in good academic standing are moved into another school's cohort. Those who leave in poor academic standing are deemed non-graduates for their initial school.

Boise State's entire student population registered a four-class average of 45 percent in the federal calculation, the highest mark in school history. The university's graduation rate is up 10 percent in five years and nearly 20 percent in the last decade.
