Led the development and launch of Bronco Studios and substantial growth in fan engagement

BOISE, Idaho – Boise State Athletics has promoted Chris Kutz to Senior Associate Athletics Director, External Affairs, in recognition of his vision, innovation, and leadership.

"Chris has been instrumental in shaping a more intentional, impactful approach to telling the Boise State story across multiple platforms," said Boise State Director of Athletics Jeramiah Dickey. "As we transition into the Pac-12 Conference this summer, his leadership and expertise will serve all our stakeholders exceptionally well."

Kutz will broaden his role in brand strategy, content storytelling, and audience growth initiatives across all platforms, aligning fan engagement with the department's broader revenue and visibility goals. He will continue to oversee marketing, community engagement, and the overall fan experience, while continuing to lead the department's communications, social and digital media, graphic design, broadcast operations, Bronco Studios, and creative video.

"Chris has elevated every part of our external operation and strengthened how the Boise State story is told locally, regionally, and nationally," said Cody Gougler, Deputy Athletic Director for External Affairs & BroncoPRO Chief Administrative Officer. "His recent launch of Bronco Studios, among several critical contributions to our department's What's Next Initiative, reflects his commitment to authentic storytelling and meaningful connection with our fans and community. He leads with a servant's heart, brings a winning mindset every day, and I'm proud to work alongside him as he joins our athletics leadership team."

Under his leadership, Bronco Studios was launched as an in-house media studio producing daily and weekly live shows and original Boise State Athletics content. Additionally, Boise State's social media accounts generated more than 238 million impressions and generated more than $21.6 million in earned and owned social media value contributing to a 73% increase in traffic to BroncoSports.com.

"Chris has expanded our brand's footprint and magnified the narrative around the Broncos through the launch of Bronco Studios, the success of the Front Porch of Idaho initiative, and the economic impact of Boise State Athletics to our community and state," said Gougler.

Kutz will continue to serve as the men's basketball secondary sport administrator and become a member of the athletics leadership team, helping guide department-wide strategic initiatives.

With more than 15 years of experience in communications, creative services, and social media, Kutz has worked at all levels of NCAA Division I. Previous stops include Kansas State, University of San Diego, and Texas State. He joined Boise State in 2024.

Raised in Madera, California, Kutz earned a bachelor's degree from the University of San Diego and a master's degree from Kansas State.
