
Strong Spring Leads to Best Cumulative GPA in Department History

BOISE, Idaho - Boise State student-athletes recorded the department's 19th-consecutive semester with at least a 3.0 term grade-point average, checking in at 3.24 for the Spring 2021 semester. It is the fifth-highest semester mark in department history.
The all-department cumulative GPA now stands at an all-time-best 3.37. It is the ninth-straight semester to conclude with Boise State student-athletes combining for at least a 3.3 cumulative GPA and the 28th consecutive semester above a 3.0.
"During one of the most tumultuous spring semesters in the history of our department, our student-athletes put together an elite performance in the classroom," director of athletics Jeramiah Dickey said. "I am appreciative of their efforts, and also for those of our coaches and academic staff."
Boise State football student-athletes own a combined 3.14 cumulative GPA after the spring term, the highest team cumulative GPA in program history. Beach volleyball (3.64), women's basketball (3.46), women's tennis (3.76) and women's track and field/cross country (3.61) also posted program records for team cumulative GPA.
Women's tennis took over the top spot in the department with a program-record 3.82 term GPA for the spring semester. The men's (3.40) and women's (3.63) track and field and cross country programs also set single-semester program bests.
Bronco student-athletes combined for 57 perfect 4.0s in the spring, while 78 percent of student-athletes achieved at least a 3.0 and 58 percent were over a 3.5. Student-athletes were well represented among academic honorees from the university, with 140 earning Dean's List distinction from their respective colleges in the spring.
