BOISE, Idaho – The Boise State football team is making several adjustments to its future schedules, director of athletics Jeramiah Dickey announced Friday. The schedule changes provide a financial boost to the department, better align future schedules with the department's philosophy moving forward and finalize the team's nonconference slate for 2024.

Boise State has scheduled a pair of games at Washington – Sept. 2, 2023 and Sept. 8, 2029 – while the Broncos and Michigan State have agreed to cancel their home-and-home series, scheduled for 2022 in Boise and 2023 in East Lansing, Mich.

Boise State and Oregon State are adjusting the Beavers' trip to Boise, which was originally scheduled for 2023. OSU will now visit Albertsons Stadium, Sept. 7, 2024, which will shift the Broncos' home game against Houston. The Broncos and Cougars are now slated to meet in Albertsons Stadium two weeks later, Sept. 21, 2024.

The Broncos will also bring UT Martin to Albertsons Stadium, Sept. 17, 2022, and North Dakota to Boise, Sept. 16, 2023.

"When evaluating these adjustments in totality, they were moves we needed to make," Dickey said. "We have talked about needing to be creative in seeking revenue-generating opportunities, and this is one of those times. We also needed a game in 2024, and these changes allowed us to put a bow on the nonconference schedule for that season.

"Our schedule is difficult and competitive moving forward. Coach Avalos and I are aligned in our scheduling philosophy, and today's announcement represents several steps that will help get us in line with how we would like our schedule to look as we move forward – nonconference games against a Power Five opponent, BYU, a Group of Five opponent and an FCS opponent."

Boise State will be paid more than $3 million for the games against Washington, and will not have to pay North Dakota for its trip to Albertsons Stadium. Boise State will pay UT Martin $425,000 to play in Boise, resulting in a roughly $3.1 million gain for the Broncos' budget.

"I trust the moves Jeramiah and his staff are making," head coach Andy Avalos said. "He has the best interest of this program, and this department, in mind as he is evaluating our future. We are aligned in our scheduling philosophy, and I am excited to continue to build this program with him."
