Spencer Danielson Named Broyles Award Nominee

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Boise State's Spencer Danielson is one of 51 nominees for the 2022 Broyles Award, presented annually to the top assistant coach in the NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS).
 
Danielson is in his second year as the Broncos' defensive coordinator and also coaches inside linebackers.
 
This season, Boise State is one of three schools to rank in the top 15 nationally for red zone touchdowns allowed (tied-second), passing defense (third), passing efficiency defense (10th), scoring defense (11th), rushing defense (14th) and third-down percentage defense (14th).
 
The Broncos have recorded at least one takeaway in six-straight games, their longest streak since an 18-game stretch in 2014-15.
 
Weakside linebacker D.J. Schramm is tied for eighth in the Mountain West with 74 tackles in his first year as a starter. Middle linebacker Ezekiel Noa is tied for the conference lead at his position with 4.5 sacks.
 
Danielson is one of 15 nominees coaching at a Group of 5 school.
