CHICAGO – Boise State quarterback Taylen Green, offensive lineman Mason Randolph and punter James Ferguson-Reynolds were named to the 2022 College Football News Freshman All-America Second Team, CFN announced Tuesday morning.

Green has thrown for 200-plus yards in six of his nine starts, including a 305-yard performance against Colorado State (Oct. 29). He has also rushed for 467 yards this season, surpassing the 100-yard rushing mark in two games.

Green is the first Bronco quarterback to run for 100 or more yards in a single game since 2014, and the first in program history to have two 100-yard performances in a single season. Additionally, his 91-yard touchdown run against Utah State (Nov. 25) marked the longest run from scrimmage in program history.

A native of Lewisville, Texas, Green's eight touchdowns rushing ranks first nationally among freshman quarterbacks and his 13 touchdowns passing is second (Drake Maye, North Carolina).

Randolph started all nine games in which he appeared at right guard in 2022. He boasted the third-highest pass-blocking efficiency score (99.2) among all MW offensive linemen and did not allow a sack in 274 pass-blocking attempts, according to Pro Football Focus.

Ferguson-Reynolds played in 12 games for the Broncos, serving as the team's primary punter. He averaged 42.5 yards over 59 punts, with a long of 61.

The Geelong, Australia native dropped 19 punts inside the 20 and only had four punts go for touchbacks.

Boise State accepted an invitation to the Frisco Bowl in Frisco, Texas, and will square off against North Texas in the fifth edition of the game, which is slated for Saturday, Dec. 17 at Toyota Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:15 p.m. MT, and the game will be nationally televised on ESPN.
