BRISTOL, Conn. – Boise State safety JL Skinner and quarterback Hank Bachmeier were tabbed to Pro Football Network's (PFN) list of Top 100 College Football Players heading into the 2022 season, PFN announced earlier this week.
PNF's Top 100 College Football Players looked at each student-athlete's individual impact on his position group's strength, value to the team and ultimately his prowess at the national level among peers at other FBS institutions.
The list included players from 57 universities at both the Power Five and Group of Five levels. Boise State was one of 23 institutions to have multiple student-athletes selected.
Skinner continues to accumulate preseason recognition, ranking 87th on PNF's list. The San Diego, Calif., native, was named to both the 2022 Bronko Nagurski Trophy and Paycom Jim Thorpe Award Watch Lists. He was also selected to the 2022 Preseason All-Mountain West Team, Athlon Preseason All-MW First Team and Phil Steele Preseason All-MW First Team.
Skinner earned second-team all-conference accolades in 2021, leading the Broncos in tackles (92), solo tackles (66) and fumble recoveries (three), and his two forced fumbles tied for first among Boise State defenders last season. He also recorded seven tackles-for-loss, five pass breakups and two interceptions, marks that tied for the second-most on the team last season.
Bachmeier came in at No. 97. The Murrieta, Calif., native, registered 3,079 yards passing and 20 touchdowns last season, completing 63 percent of his passes. He moved up Boise State's single-season lists for attempts (ninth, 401) and completions (10th, 252) and notched his 20th-career game with at least 200 yards passing, the seventh-most in program history.
