Bronco Student-Athletes Continue Academic Success During Fall Semester

BOISE, Idaho – Boise State student-athletes combined to record an all-department grade-point average of 3.32 during the fall 2022 semester, director of athletics Jeramiah Dickey announced Thursday. It is tied for the third-highest semester GPA in department history. The all-department cumulative GPA stands at 3.35 following the fall semester, the 31st consecutive semester above 3.0.
"We take pride in our culture that celebrates student-athletes who are as committed to winning in the classroom as they are on the field," said Dickey. "I am so thankful for the tireless efforts of all those that are making a positive impact on the student-athlete experience at Boise State, including coaches, staff, and academic advisors."
The cumulative GPA, including all Bronco student-athletes, is the fifth-highest in department history. Every women's program is currently carrying a cumulative GPA of at least 3.47.
During the fall semester, 57 student-athletes logged a perfect 4.0 GPA and 80% of student-athletes earned a 3.0 GPA or higher with nearly 40% of student-athletes named to the Dean's List in their respective colleges.
Gymnastics and women's tennis tied for department lead in cumulative GPA at 3.78. Women's basketball led all teams with a 3.71 term GPA, the first time the program has led the department since Spring 2003. Also setting program bests were women's golf (3.69 term GPA), and volleyball (3.55 cumulative GPA). Men's tennis has the highest cumulative GPA for a men's team at 3.30.
The Boise State spring semester began on Monday, Jan. 8.
