Marquardt and Sippel Lead Broncos Against Tulsa

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Jan Lucca Marquardt and Sam Sippel led the Broncos on Sunday against Tulsa at the Allen Morris Invitational. On the day, Boise State went 4-8 versus the Golden Hurricane in a hidden dual that featured four doubles and eight singles contests.

Marquardt and Ryo Minakata teamed up in doubles to win 6-3, while Michael Bott and Simon Arca Costas defeated their doubles opponent 6-2.

In singles, Marquardt claimed his singles match in three sets over Tim Carlseon Sager.

Sippel was the only other Bronco to win a singles match, taking his in straight sets over Stefan Hampe 6-4, 6-3.

Notables

Marquardt and Minakata improved to a team-best 3-1 in doubles on the weekend.
Marquardt is now 9-2 in doubles on the year, third-best on the team.
Sippel's singles win was the ninth of the season as he improved to 9-3.

What's Next

Boise State will close out the Allen Morris Invitational Monday when it plays singles against 18th-ranked North Carolina.
