Discenza Named Ford Student-Athlete of the Week

BOISE, Idaho – Nicole Discenza has been named the Ford Boise State Student-Athlete of the week, Oct. 31-Nov. 6.

A member of the Bronco women's tennis squad, the senior won the silver singles draw at the San Diego State Fall Classic II, Nov. 3-5.

Discenza won all three of her singles matches on the weekend, defeating Nevada's Kennedy Robinson (6-1, 6-2) and UC San Diego's Katelyn Vu (6-2, 4-6, 7-5) to advance to the championship match. In the title match against Wiem Boubaker of Nevada, she dropped the first set before coming back to win 4-6, 6-3, 6-4.

The Maracay, Venezuela native won eight singles matches this fall season and has totaled 52 career singles victories with the Broncos.
