
Broncos Add California Transfer

BOISE, Idaho – Caroline Wales has joined the Boise State women's golf program, head coach Kailin Downs announced, Friday.
Wales spent her freshman year (2021-22) at Kansas before competing at Cal State San Marcos last season.
With the Cougars, she was the individual medalist at the California Collegiate Athletic Association Championships when she shot 74-74-72-218 (+2). She added a 13th-place finish at the NCAA Division II West Regional, which included a 68 (-2) in the third and final round. At the NCAA Division II National Championships, she tied for 14th at 74-73-73-220 (+4). Wales finished the season ranked 24th nationally by GolfStat.
"Caroline's work ethic is extremely impressive," Downs said. "She has success competing at a high level. I am excited to have her join our program and watch her continue to elevate her game."
A native of La Quinta, Calif., she was a two-time MVP at Palm Desert High School and a two-time Desert Sun Girls Golfer of the Year. She helped Palm Desert win three-straight Empire League titles and extend the school's undefeated mark in league play to 21-consecutive years.
She was runner-up at the 2019 CWAC Junior Girls State Championship and finished third at the 2019 SCGA Junior Amateur. In 2018, she tied for first at the First Tee Pure Insurance Open at Pebble Beach paired alongside PGA Champions Tour player Stephen Ames.
