SEATTLE,  Wash. - Boise State head coach Andy Avalos wanted a fast start from his team to start the season and they delivered. Unfortunately it wasn't sustained when No. 10/11 Washington responded in the second quarter as the Huskies claimed a 56-19 win Saturday afternoon at Husky Stadium.

The visiting Broncos (0-1) struck first and held a 6-0 lead at the end of the first quarter thanks to Ashton Jeanty's seven-yard run that capped an explosive 10-play, 90-yard drive. The sophomore tailback finished the game with 153 total yards thanks to a career-best 109 receiving yard performance.

After the Huskies responded with a touchdown, Jonah Dalmas connected on a 39-yard field goal to retake the lead. Washington responded with an explosive second quarter, scoring 21 unanswered points. Dalmas hit a 34-yard field goal to cut the lead to 28-12 at the break.

Jeanty continued his stellar day in the third quarter, catching a career-long 50-yard touchdown pass from Taylen Green to cut the score to 28-19. But the 10th-ranked Huskies (1-0) scored 28 unanswered points to pull away in the third and fourth quarters.
