
Kiesler Named Mountain West Freshman of the Week

BOISE, Idaho - Boise State cross country runner Julia Kiesler was named Mountain West Cross Country Women's Freshman of the Week, the conference announced, Tuesday. This is her first career Mountain West weekly honor.

Kiesler's honor follows her 20th place finish at the Roy Griak Invitational in Falcon Heights, Minn., Sept. 22. She traversed the course in 21:47.0 to lead her team to finish fifth over nationally-ranked No. 19 New Mexico.

Her finish was the highest of any Mountain West freshmen at the meet, with the next closest being Colorado State's Kenya Dennee (22:12.6) who finished in 49th.

Next, the Broncos will travel to Madison, Wis., to conclude their regular season at the Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational, Oct. 13. Boise State will then host the MW Cross Country Championships, Oct. 27, at Eagle Island State Park.
