BOISE, Idaho – Former Boise State center Matt Paradis will raise the Blue Chaos flag ahead of No. 21 Boise State's Mountain West opener against Utah State on Saturday.

Paradis (2009-13) was a highly-decorated center for the Broncos, earning First Team All-Mountain West honors as a junior and second-team recognition as a senior. He went on to play seven seasons in the NFL, including winning Super Bowl 50 as the starting center for the Denver Broncos in 2015.

"It is a great honor for me to be able to raise the Blue Chaos flag," Paradis said. "I am so thankful of our Boise State fan base and how amazing they are at games and outside of sports. It means so much to me to be able to play a small part in the tradition."

As a redshirt senior, he was a key contributor to an offense that ranked ninth-nationally in red zone offense (.906), 16th in scoring offense (38.8), 21st in first downs (299), 24th in total offense (470.8), 31st in passing offense (269.0) and 32nd in rushing offense (201.8). Paradis closed his Boise State career with 26 consecutive starts and was named the team's most outstanding offensive lineman following the season.

Paradis was selected with the 207th pick in the 2014 NFL Draft by the Denver Broncos. He started in 16 games for the Broncos in his first season in the league, culminating with the Super Bowl victory. He spent four seasons with the Broncos, starting 57 games. Paradis signed with the Carolina Panthers in 2019, playing 41 games over three seasons with the organization. Over his entire NFL tenure, Paradis started all 98 games in which he appeared.

"I'm so excited to be back in Boise for the game," Paradis said. "This place will always hold a special place in my heart. I'm so thankful to be able to come back and see what it has become and where the program is heading in the future. Being a Bronco is something special because of the people, culture and environment. There is nowhere else like it and I am so blessed to be able to have been a part and continue to be around it."
