COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – In what has become a Monday tradition, Ashton Jeanty has been named the Mountain West Offensive Player of the Week. The junior running back ran for 186 yards and three touchdowns on 13 carries, leading Boise State to a 62-30 win over Utah State in the conference opener. This is Jeanty's fourth MW recognition in five games.

Jeanty ran for a 63-yard touchdown on Boise State's first offensive snap, then added a 75-yard touchdown rush in the second quarter. That marked his fourth touchdown of 70-plus yards, setting the MW single-season record. He has seven rushes of 60-plus yards this season. No FBS team has recorded more than four. Jeanty averaged 14.3 yards per carry, the second-highest single-game tally in school history. He collected these numbers in two quarters, sitting the entire second half.

The Bronco tailback has an FBS-high 1,031 rushing yards this season, becoming the eighth player since 1996 to eclipse 1,000 yards in five games. He also leads the country in rushing touchdowns (16), yards per rush (10.9), yards per game (206.2) and yards after contact (755).

Boise State jumped four spots to No. 17 in the AP Poll and entered the US LBM Coaches Poll for the first time this season, checking in at No. 22. The Broncos continue their MW campaign with a trip to Hawai'i, playing the Rainbow Warriors at 9 p.m. MT on Saturday, Oct. 12.

Led by Spencer Danielson in his first full season, Boise State looks to become the first Mountain West program to win back-to-back championships since San Diego State did so in 2015-16. Achieving such a feat will put Boise State in the discussion for the new, expanded, 12-team College Football Playoff format beginning this fall. Last year, Danielson became the first coach in college football history to win a conference championship with an interim title.
