On October 3, 29 members of Charlie Company, 2-158th Assault Helicopter Battalion, 16th Combat Aviation Brigade based at Joint Base Lewis McChord visited Albertsons Stadium to conduct an honorary military promotion ceremony for one of their own.
Â
The service members, consisting of UH60M Blackhawk helicopter Pilots and Crew Chiefs, were in the Treasure Valley as part of a training exercise at Gowen Field.
Â
The ceremony recognized the accomplishments and promotion of Sergeant Shawn Giffin from Louisville, KY. The ceremony was under the direction of Captain Colt Sterk, the Commander of Charlie Company. A native of Boise, CPT Sterk has served in the Army since 2017.
Â
"Some of my fondest memories have been shared with my family right here at Albertsons Stadium," said CPT Sterk. "The BLUE is a special place and offered a very unique venue for a very important milestone in Sergeant Griffin's military career."
