COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Boise State junior James Ferguson-Reynolds was named Mountain West Special Teams Player of the Week, the conference announced. The punter averaged 48.0 yards per punt, placing four inside the 20-yard line in Boise State's 17-13 win at Wyoming.
Ferguson-Reynolds had a 62-yard punt in the second quarter, his second-longest punt of the season. It landed at the Wyoming 7-yard line, one of two punts he put inside the Cowboys' 10-yard line. None of his punts went for touchbacks and the lone return was for one yard, giving him a net average of 47.8.
This is the first MW Special Teams Player of the Week award for Boise State this season. The Broncos have 10 total awards from the MW this season, doubling the total from 2023. Ferguson-Reynolds also earned this recognition on Oct. 9, 2023.
Boise State (10-1, 7-0 MW) closes the regular season on The Blue with a 10 a.m. game against Oregon State (5-6) on Friday, Nov. 29. It will be televised nationally on FOX. The Broncos have clinched the right to host the 2024 Old Trapper Mountain West Championship, which will be played at 6 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 6.
